Prevention is better than cure as they may say. There is no way of preventing osteoarthritis brought about by aging however we can minimize the risk of developing it by following these tips:

1.       Minimize injury in the joints
Constant and several injuries to joints can destroy the cartilage over time.

2.       Exercise regularly.
Not only are you keeping your body fit but so does your joints. Aerobic exercise in particular is very useful (e.g. biking or walking). Try to do it every day even for around 30 minutes. And please do not behave maniacally when exercising because you are not only giving your body a strain but also suppressing your body’s immune system.

3.       Stay at a healthy weight.
Know your BMI and check if it is suited for your age. If you are overweight, then please do try loose some. Extra weight puts a lot of stress to the joints especially that of the hips, knees and balls of the feet.

4.       Stay active.
The body’s governing law goes this way: “When a certain organ/tissue is not in used, less energy should be allocated.” Basically, when one fails to use his joints for quite some time, then the muscles surrounding the joints will become weak which may lead to anaplasia.

5.       Have a healthy living.
Healthy living would mean avoiding the things that may predispose yourself from developing such disease and at the same time getting used to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

6.       Sip a cup of Ganoderma Coffee.
Daily intake of Ganoderma Coffee indeed has several benefits like the antioxidative  and anti-inflammatory property of coffee as discussed in the previous posts. Invest for a healthy living!

Growth is a constructive thing, but aging is the opposite.  As more and more years are added into our life, certain manifestations of health degenerations are experienced by us.  One of the most common illnesses we may suffer in the process of aging is arthritis. Osteoarthritis is a form of arthritis that features the breakdown and eventual loss of the cartilage of one or more joints. Cartilage is important in the sense that it cushions the bones. Before age 45, osteoarthritis occurs more frequently in males. After 55 years of age, it occurs more frequently in females. In the United States, all races appear equally affected. A higher incidence of osteoarthritis exists in the Japanese population, while South-African blacks, East Indians, and Southern Chinese have lower rates. Perhaps, race and cultural as well as social habits might be the reason for such differences. Osteoarthritis is abbreviated as OA or referred to as degenerative arthritis or degenerative joint disease (DJD). What causes osteoarthritis you may asked.

Basically, this disease is part of the natural aging process of the joints. As we age, more and more water accumulates in the joints on the other hand losing proteins such as cartilage. Aside from the above mentioned reason, physical trauma might also lead to the formation of osteoarthritis.

You cannot prevent the birds of sorrow from flying over your head, but you can prevent them from building nests in your hair. An idiom which may be applied from our daily life, you just cannot control everything in your life, as much as you might want to but we can prevent the premature occurrence of this life-changing disease. A healthy diet is a good start. In the study conducted by the researchers at King's College, in London, a diet rich in garlic, onions and leeks could reduce your risk of developing the most common form of arthritis. Another way that can contribute to the prevention of osteoarthritis is Ganoderma Coffee. As discussed in our previous post Antioxidative Property of Coffee, we have discussed the therapeutic benefit of A Cup of Coffee for Everybody. With Ganoderma having anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating properties, future manifestations of osteoarthritis can be prevented. Nevertheless, the pain-reducing components of Ganoderma Coffee help in alleviating the pain brought about by this disease. In fact, in the study conducted, “Effect of Ganoderma lucidum on Postherpetic Neuralgia”, states that “Administration of hot water soluble extracts of Ganoderma lucidum (GI) (36 to 72 g dry weight/day) decreased pain dramatically. . . (Hijikata Y, Yamada S.)”.

Why not give yourself a chance to elude the cons of aging. Give Ganoderma Coffee a sip!

Antioxidative Property of Coffee

Boosting ones immune system is indeed a tough job in the same way as your immune system plays its crucial role in maintaining homeostasis in our body daily. Just imagine the wonder of God’s creation when He aided the man with a definite way to counter attack all the pathogens surrounding us paving its way into our body. But yet, the truth of the matter is, in this fast-pace world that we live in, we permit ourselves to be more susceptible not just with the disease-causing microorganisms that may invade our body system but also with the various free radicals both acquired and innate in us. This may be due to stress, exposure to ionizing radiation, unhealthy lifestyle which includes excessive alcoholic drinking and cigarette smoking.

We have constantly heard from the tv advertisements and some sort of mass media promotion the term “free radical”. But, admit it or not, only a few have grasped the definite knowledge on what it is about and how destructive it may be to our body. Free radicals are molecules which are missing an electron (a negatively charged particle). These could exist as a by-product of body metabolism. In this sense, all of us are predisposed to acquire free radicals from our day-to-day living knowing the fact that we utilize oxygen in our bodily metabolism for adenosine triphosphate (ATP) utilization. But as far as science is concern, there are means to thwart the destructive effects of these free radicals.

Inasmuch as we have dwelt with free radicals in the previous statement, we too will deal with antioxidants which are known to combat the ill-famed free radicals. How this antioxidant does its counterattack, you may ask. According to a study conducted, these antioxidants act as free radical scavengers by preventing and repairing damages caused by reactive oxygen species. This is the mechanism of the human body to offset oxidative stress by producing antioxidants, which are either naturally produced in situ, or externally supplied through foods and/or supplements.

Some of the fruits that contain antioxidants are: Prunes, raisins, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, plums, oranges, red grapes and cherries. Nonetheless, during the 230th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society, a group of researchers at the University of Scranton said that coffee was the number one source of antioxidants in the U.S diet. Ganoderma Coffee provides more than just a morning jolt- that steaming cup of Ganoderma Coffee could also facilitate the production of free radical scavengers thereby boosting the body’s immune system.

Aside from its sumptuous aroma and flavor, would you exchange the beneficial effects the Ganoderma Coffee in your diet?

A Cup of Coffee for Everybody

Coffee has been one of the favorite drinks of almost everyone throughout the world. Have you ever heard of anyone failing to drink their cup of their sumptuous coffee? It has been a daily routine of mine to take in coffee every breakfast and in some cases or another, during sleepless nights following examination day. Later did I found out that aside from the neurologic effects of caffeine present in the coffee serving as a nerve stimulant to gear you up for tomorrow’s exam by blocking the action of melatonin (sleep-inducer hormone); coffee too has some other beneficial effects.

An alternative for brewed coffee would be the consumption of Organo Gold Ganoderma coffee. The favorable effects of this coffee can be traced way back in the Chinese tradition where Ganoderma Coffee was called as the magic herb which can be used as a treatment for various known diseases and increase life expectancy rate. No wonder why their race had been known to have greater life expectancy rate compared to others. Levels of antioxidants were also quite high in ganoderma coffee and thus counteracting the levels of free radicals, which we all know is harmful for humans and other species, thus, lowering the risk for diseases like cancer, heart diseases, strokes, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer.

Another advantage of ganoderma coffee as compared to an ordinary cup of coffee is that unlike those ordinary cups of coffee which produce tremors, ganoderma coffee contains calming properties which gives the family of coffee drinkers a tranquil sleep.

Ganoderma coffee was also found out to have positive effects on mental health by increasing the flow of oxygen in the brain and in some other vital parts in the body which needs sufficient supply of oxygen henceforth allowing the proper functioning of the brain.

Indeed, ganoderma coffee is the best partner in lieu of your ordinary coffee to accompany your meals not only in the breakfast but in some other “coffee time”. Give it a try and you’ll see for yourself its beneficial outcome.
